  • We Are Free Now

I love this song, attributed all the time I note to Enya when in fact it is written and performed by Lisa Gerrard, who you will notice sings in a strange language, this is a language Lisa made up when she was a child and explains that this is how she speaks to 'god'....when I was feeling low before my op and when I didn't know what was wrong I took myself to a huge old oak tree that sits by the lake in a park close to home and leant my back against the great trunk of it and asked for strength and it gave me it's strength. That way I felt my own connection to earth, roots deep in the ground........

This song reminds me of those moments ............There is nothing so healing or comforting to me than walking in the park amongst those old trees and wild flowers that have been growing here on earth for so long...hope you enjoy the beautiful song and her amazing voice :)

  • Chips In A Bucket

We had a long weekend on the Isle of Wight last weekend, both needed some kind of a break, it was warm and sunny yay! how lucky was that? Having never been before it was easy to get to and a very nice place, a little tired looking in parts, smaller than expected, but some of the villages and houses were stunning, we took Joe on the ferry and he coped so well with all the travelling. If you are going to the Isle here's what I reccomend, lunch at The Taverners in Godhsill, a gorgeous little old world village full of nice shops to browse and plenty of places to eat or just to have a coffee
I had salt beef and beetroot sandwich with a bucket of their 'famous' chips, hubby had prawn sandwiches with chips, you will never have tasted chips so good, it was sheer heaven.....in Shanklin the old part of the small town is pretty with thatched pubs on every corner lit up with coloured lights and leading down to Shanklin Chine (sadly closed during our trip) it was buzzing and friendly and everywhere seemed to be thriving, I didn't see one closed pub while there and there are so many places to eat on the Isle, whereas here there is a pub closing every 5 mins :(

we want to live there now on a house boat :))
